Class News
Race for Education
Thank you to those who turned in labels for Race for Education. Our class was very close to earning that popcorn party. A special thank you to our wonderful PTA for organizing a fundraiser to help support adding technology into our classrooms. I know my class is really enjoying using our Promethean Board each day.
Mastering our Math Facts
We have set our goal! By the end of second grade each student will master their addition and subtraction facts. We have been learning the importance of knowing these facts and applied them when adding 3-digit numbers. To master our facts each student will have a race car to move around our class fact race track. We will be taking a timed test twice a week for students to demonstrate mastery of each fact. Students are given time each day to practice their facts with a partner or independently. Check out some of the suggestions in the website tab to encourage both accuracy and speed.
